To note: Khenifra is quite a relic, and has seen many years in the Moroccan desert. There is a tear as seen on the bottom right corner, which can be repaired or enjoyed as is, as it adds to the vintage charm. The darker threads in the rug might appear as stains in the images, but can easily be identified as strategic patterns in person.
Rehamna rugs are handmade by Berber artisans in the plains of central Morocco. Typically made from wool and goat hair, these rugs are know for their vibrant colors and intricate designs. The Rehamna tribe no longer weaves rugs, so these truly are coveted gems, and a rare piece of history.
Handmade products hold charm as no two are alike. Our products are hand woven by the Berber women of Morocco, and each holds it’s own story and characteristics. Please note that it is possible that there may be slight imperfections in symmetry, stitching, pattern and design. Our collection of vintage pieces have a history in far off lands, and may show slight wear, loose stitching, and repair, thus fulfilling the charm of their coveted “vintage” title.
Each of our rugs has been cleaned prior to shipping and are ready for use in your home.
We strive to capture our products with the most accurate coloring, but please note that slight variations are possible based variable conditions and screen display. We happily provide additional images if requested.
Caring for your handwoven Moroccan rug
We recommend cleaning your rug by hanging it outdoors where feasible, and shaking out any collected dirt or dust. If using a vacuum, we reccomend a gentle cycle, avoiding rotating bristles and suction attachments, which can damage the fibers of the rug.
Spot treatment is safest with water only, never apply commercial cleaning products to your rug. Many of our rugs are composed of wool fibers, washing in a standard washing machine will cause damage. We recommend profesional cleaning if needed.
Rugs that are exposed to sunlight will fade over time, so we recommend rotating your rug every few months. Rotating also helps distribute even wear and tear. Many of our rugs are woven with high fibrous materials, which can shed. This is normal, and will diminish over time.
